20-Hour MN Mortgage Licensing Course
This course is approved by the Minnesota Department of Commerce to satisfy the 20-hour mandatory education requirement for Minnesota mortgage originator licensing. Day one will set the foundation for your career in the mortgage lending industry. The instructor will guide students through the general mortgage origination process, including discussions about credit, the appraisal and underwriting, qualifying, and loan documents. Armed with the basics of mortgage lending, students will begin day two with a three-hour, in-depth look at the Federal laws pertinent to the mortgage industry. A three-hour discussion on ethics will help students understand fraud, consumer protection, and fair lending. Day two will end with a discussion about how FHA, VA, HECM, and construction loan products are considered the main non-traditional mortgage products in today’s market. On the third day, the course will conclude with Minnesota law, mortgage broker agency relationships, and loan pricing.
